But Mayfield would not have taken such a beating. Last year, he looked shaky some of the time. A high-ankle sprain haunted him last season. But I’m not going to fall into the trap of saying there is something wrong with Watson because he’s sat out the last two games with that rotator cuff problem.So was Mayfield, and his shoulder wasn’t even the one used for throwing. It didn’t work for Mayfield or the Browns.Watson played seven games in 2017, then he had season ending ACL knee surgery.Watson played 31 of 32 possible games from 2019-20.
