The former president spoke of his frustration at the scandal being brought up 20 years afterward in 2018, during an NBC interview.
Former President Bill Clinton has said he lives with the scandal that took over his presidency, involving White House intern Monica Lewinsky, 'all the time.'Writing in his new book Citizen, Clinton admitted he had never apologized to Lewinsky personally following the sexual relationship with the then 22-year-old, which he initially denied before his impeachment by the House of Representatives.
However, the interview took a turn when host Craig Melvin asked if he would have resigned a president if the MeToo movement was underway when the scandal emerged in 1998.'I said, 'No, I felt terrible then,'' Clinton recalled of the conversation in the book. ''Did you ever apologize to her?' I said that I had apologized to her and everybody else I wronged.'I was caught off guard by what came next.
