A: The fact is major league pro sports teams are not going to pay 100% for their venues. The renovation projects with the Cavs and Guardians on their facilities included some money from the teams, along with cash from the city, county and state.in Buffalo for the Bills. Here’s how the funding breaks down: $600 million from the state of New York. $550 million from the Bills and the NFL. $250 million from the county.
Q: Don’t you think it’s a waste of money to spend $1 billion or whatever on a football stadium that perhaps has a dozen events a year? A: Dee Haslam said: “I think it’s premature to say that, because we’re really focused on staying in downtown on the lakefront, but I can’t predict what’s going to happen because it’s really complex.”
, OK? That’s for sure. Our preference is to be on the lakefront. But you have to see how things play out. It will be fluid and there will be bumps in the road and it may be different in three months than it is now.”A: This will take a long time. Regardless of what they do, it will be expensive. Public money will be a big part of it. There will be a lot of criticism when the deal is announced. But in the end, they will probably work out something.
