Billionaire Sam Zell had choice words for Congressman Gregory Meeks on Wednesday during a morning interview on CNBC:
Many New York politicians, notably freshman U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, spoke out about Amazon’s HQ2. She described the Long Island City plan as “extremely concerning.” Zell, who was serving as a co-host on the CNBC morning program “Squawk Box,” described the factors that led to Amazon’s quitting the HQ2 project in Gotham as a “tyranny of the minority” and said it would go down as one of the area’s great political mistakes.
CNBC wasn’t immediately able to comment, and a spokesman for Meeks in Washington didn’t immediately respond to a call requesting comment.
