Pub chain tells 43,000 workers they will not be paid until government reimburses wages
The pub chain Wetherspoons has denied it is “abandoning” its staff after it told 43,000 workers they will not be paid during the Covid-19 crisis until the company is reimbursed for their wages by the government.
