The Field of Heroes in Westerville is honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for our country and freedom.
Each flag represents a veteran who died while serving the country.
"We’re celebrating the freedoms that we had, but they were at the expense of somebody that served and sacrificed or risked their life for the service of the country," Jim Coldwell, co-chair of the Field of Heroes, said.According to the co-chair of the event, more than 100 service members who fought in the Civil War are buried in Westerville.
