On Monday, family and friends of WWII veteran Cal Weiss came together to play chair volleyball and eat some sweet treats as he turns 100 years old On Monday, his family and friends at Danbury Westerville came together to play chair volleyball and eat some sweet treats as he turns 100 years old. His daughters Carol and Diane planned out the celebrations months ago.
Calvin is a veteran of World War II. He spent a year in the Pacific. After the war, he came home and worked at National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, before it became NASA. Soon, he was called to serve in the Korean War. He even swore Neil Armstrong into NASA. His daughters describe him as loving, funny, and an amazing father. Executive director at Danbury Westerville, Chris Quinlan, describes Calvin as the life of the party.
Even the mayor of Westerville came to honor Calvin and wished him a happy birthday. Calvin says he is very blessed to reach the age of 100. He is very grateful to everyone who took part in his three-day birthday celebration.
