'Hammond Ashley Violins' is still working to come back from significant tree damage to its building.Nearby at the restaurant ‘The Well & Table,’ the lights are back on, and the servers are once again taking orders, but not before removing a tree that had fallen on the building.
Owner Jaynie Wetherbee told KOMO News, “We had cleanup and prep work to do. It takes time to rebuild your menu back up again. Especially from scratch when everything essentially had to have been thrown away.” It was nearly a week without power for most businesses in town. Wetherbee said during that time, they lost vital sales. This Small Business Saturday is a chance to catch up. “Restaurants run on very tight profit margins. Five days of lost revenue definitely has a financial impact on the business,” she said.
