Stats SA, says the Western Cape accounts as third over populated province in the country:
For the year of 2022, Statistics South Africa estimates the mid-year population at 60,60 million people.that specifies the Western Cape is one of the third over populated province’s in South Africa accounting for 11.9% of the national population.
Helena Jacobs, the Director for Development Planning Intelligence Management and Research says some of thePeople seeking better work-from-home lifestyle and moving to smaller towns within their provinces. Land Invasions, taking place largely on municipal/government land that is not always suitable for housing developments. These include nature reserves and areas prone to flooding.
