“They’re both really talented but they’re both inexperienced,” rivalskeenan with more on quarterback competition and MORE:

The West Virginia coaching staff essentially took what Garrett Greene and Nicco Marchiol have done well and meshed their talents to fit within the strengths of the offense on the offensive line and the running back room.

“Did we hit a button and just blow everything up we were doing? No, that’s not what we’re doing. What we’ve done is we’ve looked at the two quarterbacks that are competing and we said what are the strengths? What are their talents? How can we best utilize their talents?” Brown said. Even in one spring practice, Marchiol executed a perfect run-pass-option for a touchdown on a post route in stride and doing the same on a go-ball down the sideline to wide receiver Devin Carter. Those were two beautiful plays, but he followed those up with errors in the two-minute drill and several avoidable mistakes that led to turnovers.

The head coach saw the two trade-off on which one has played better on what seems like an almost daily basis and through the course of the spring and Brown still doesn’t anticipate any sort of quick decision when it comes to eventually naming a starter.
