For the second year running, West Herts hospital chief Matthew Coats has been named one of the top 50 NHS CEOs.

Mr Coats joined the West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in 2022 from a previous role in the Civil Service.Trust Chair Phil Townsend said:"I’m delighted to see Matthew’s leadership recognised in this way and its testament to the progress we have made together at West Herts over recent years.

"Matthew has a close connection with the local area and is passionate about offering high quality care, services and facilities to our local community. "That’s what drives him and motivates him, along with a desire to create a supportive culture which allows colleagues to thrive in their work."
