`Neighbors of a West Haven , Utah, woman and children who were found dead with gunshot wounds in a car outside her home, stop to pay their respects on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024, after the deaths were discovered the day before.
Authorities have determined the cause of death of a West Haven mother and her three children to have been murder-suicide. Meribel Lsela Ibarra, 32, is believed to have shot her three children in the back of her vehicle before turning the gun on herself, Lt. Terance Layely of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office stated at a press conference held on Friday, Sept. 6.Investigators are not calling West Haven deaths murder-suicideOn Tuesday, Sept. 3, Ibarra and her three young kids were found dead inside their vehicle parked in the driveway of their home on Prevedel Drive.
Ibarra and her three children - a four-year-old boy, a two-year-old girl, and a one-year-old girl, were all found with gunshot wounds. “All four individuals were found laying down in the back of the vehicle,” said Lt. Colby Ryan with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
