West Ham players Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen cut short their goal celebrations to pull a ball boy out from underneath an advertising screen that collapsed during their 2-0 win at Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Soucek had just scored the opener in the 67th minute on Saturday and Bowen jumped onto his back as they celebrated in front of the away fans at Selhurst Park.
West Ham stars halt game to save trapped boy from being crushed. But some of those supporters spilled onto the field when the advertising hoardings gave way, and a Crystal Palace ball boy was left trapped underneath one of the screens. Soucek then quickly hoisted the screen up while England international Bowen helped the boy to his feet. The two then checked to make sure the boy was unharmed. “I’ve seen him and I think it’s just instinct, especially when you’re parents now as well,” Bowen said.
