A California investor has snapped up a mixed-use development in West Dallas.

The Langford project includes more than 300 apartments plus retail space at West Commerce Street and Beckley, just across the Trinity River from downtown Dallas. Built starting in 2020, the project was designed by Dallas architect GFF Architects, and the general contractor was OHT Partners. The apartment and retail project was developed by Two Austin companies — Good + West Residential and Cypress Real Estate AdvisorsThe new owners are represented by Hermosa Beach, Calif., businessman David Handmaker.The just-sold development is in an area seeing widespread apartment construction. Developers including Mill Creek Residential andDallas-Fort Worth is the country’s fastest-growing apartment market, with more than 50,000 units under construction.changing hands in the first half of 2022.

The West Commerce Gateway apartments and retail in West Dallas have been renamed The Langford and were sold to a California investor.
