This is the second record-breaking heatwave the West coast has seen in less than a month. On Aug. 16, California may have produced one of the highest temperatures ever recorded in human history with a 130 degree reading in Death Valley.
Not only did the August heatwave help spark the wildfires in the first place, but the company overseeing the state’s energy grid implemented two days of rolling blackouts due to increased electricity usage for air conditioning. There are no blackouts planned for this weekend, but California’s Independent System Operator is
