Speaking at a press conference in Paris, the NBA's 2023 Rookie of the Year stressed 'it’s important to move away from extremes' as a French election looms.
With a historic, two-round French parliamentary election just days away, Spurs star Victor Wembanyama suggested Thursday that voters should reject embracing extremist views at the ballot box. 'Of course, political choices are personal,' said Wembanyama, 20, according to RMC Sport. 'But I think that, at least for me, it’s important to move away from extremes. I think this is not at all the direction to take for a country like ours. Even though it’s very personal, that’s how I feel.
Wembanyama applauds Spurs' decision to select Castle The turmoil in Wembanyama's homeland began June 9 when voters handed Macron a defeat at the hands of Marine Le Pen’s hard right National Rally party in EU parliamentary elections. That outcome prompted Macron to call for a surprise parliamentary election, with the centrist leader believing French voters would rally to prevent the first far-right government from taking power in the country since the Nazi occupation in World War II.
