PHILADELPHIA - Victor Wembanyama will take to the court on Monday night against the Philadelphia 76ers as the reigning Western Conference Player of the Week. The 7-foot-3 Spurs center earned the honor - the first of his career - after averaging 36.0 points, 7.0 blocks, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 52.5% from the field, 47.8% from 3-point range and 83.3% from the foul line.
Wembanyama had 42 points, six rebounds, six assists, four blocks and two steals against the Hawks. He notched eight points in OT in the 133-126 victory. With seven 3-pointers and four blocks against Atlanta he became just the second player in NBA history to put up those numbers, joining former Spurs guard Danny Green. Two nights later, Wembanyama had 30 points, 10 blocks, seven rebounds and three assists in a 114-94 win over the Trail Blazers.
