Wells Fargo & Co. shares WFC, -0.10% rose 2.3% in premarket trade Friday, after the bank beat profit and revenue estimates for the first quarter. San Francisco-based Wells said it had net income of $5.9 billion, or $1.20 a share, in the quarter, up from $5.1 billion, or 96 cents a share, in the year-earlier period. Revenue fell to $21.6 billion from $21.9 billion. The FactSet consensus was for EPS of $1.11 and revenue of $20.9 billion. Net interest income rose to $12.3 billion from $12.
