Democratic and Republican House members confronted Wells Fargo CEO Timothy Sloan over the bank's problems
Wells Fargo & Co. Chief Executive Timothy Sloan faced combative questions Tuesday from a bipartisan group of House lawmakers, his latest test in the yearslong fallout from his bank’s sales-practices scandal.
Mr. Sloan said Wells Fargo has taken major steps to change its ways. But House Financial Services Committee members from both parties were skeptical and used the hearing to press Mr. Sloan on a litany of problems at the lender. Often, lawmakers cut him off before he had a chance to fully answer their questions.
