After dropping off their bags, guests can visit the Hotel Hyundai’s bar and restaurant. It promises to have a menu as “innovative and sustainable as the cars powering it, with ingredients sourced locally within Essex.” For those arriving early, there’s an Ioniq 5 coffee lounge where they can pick up a perfectly prepared espresso.
When the sun goes down, guests can head to the cinema which has a car-powered projector and speakers. The Ioniq 5 also powers a popcorn machine for a “true cinema experience.” Hotel Hyundai is made possible by the Ioniq 5’s V2L technology, which effectively turns the car into a big battery pack. It supplies up to 3.6 kW of juice to power everything from lights to coffee makers and kettles.at the hotel, which includes a three-course dinner and a continental breakfast. Hyundai also noted the idea sprang out of research showing 55% of those surveyed said the “cost-of-living crisis” has made them rethink their future holiday plans.
