Two suspects are in custody after firing shots outside a Fort Worth bar, leading to a police chase and injuries.

Two men suspected of opening fire outside a Fort Worth bar are in police custody following a weekend chase that involved a shootout with officers. The incident began around 10 p.m. on Sunday when two men allegedly fired shots outside El Chingon Bar on Bledsoe Street. Officers working an off-duty detail at the bar confronted the suspects as they attempted to flee the scene.

During the confrontation, the suspects reportedly fired shots at the off-duty officers, but the officers did not return fire.Miraculously, no officers or bar security personnel were injured in the initial shooting. The motive behind the initial gunfire remains unknown. However, the off-duty officers were able to relay information about the fleeing suspects to responding Fort Worth police units. A short pursuit ensued, culminating in officers stopping the vehicle and apprehending both men. One suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries sustained during a struggle over a firearm with the other suspect. During the struggle, one suspect shot the other in the arm. One officer involved in the pursuit also sought medical attention at a hospital after sustaining an injury while deploying spike strips. Fort Worth police have yet to release the names of the suspects or the specific charges against them. The department's gun violence unit is actively investigating the case
