San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora declared a week-long city-wide mourning period to honor the late Vice Mayor Warren Villa, who died on Sunday night, June 18. ManilaBulletin READ:
Zamora issued Executive Order No. 151, Series of 2023, indicating that the mourning period will be from Monday, June 19, to Sunday, June 25.
In addition, all the Philippine flags in the city will be flown at half-mast for three days, pursuant to Republic Act No. 8491 or the "Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines." Zamora recalled receiving a text message at around 12 noon on June 18, saying Villa was not feeling well and was unable to attend the scheduled Mayor's Cup 2023 Basketball Tournament.
