WASHINGTON - Congress returns to Washington with ambitions to pass President Donald Trump ’s agenda as he nears a benchmark in his term, and the U.S. Supreme Court wraps up their last hearings of this term.
After two weeks off to celebrate Passover and Easter, Congress returns to the nation’s capital with an eye on passing Trump’s agenda. Congressional Republicans hope to continue work on reconciliation and pass what Trump calls “one big beautiful bill.” It would include tax cuts and money for both the military and border security. Also this week, Trump celebrates his 100th day of his second term in office. He’s planning on holding a rally Tuesday night in Michigan to mark the ceremonial occasion. The Supreme Court also starts to wrap up its oral arguments hearing some of its final cases of this term. They include cases on, charter schools and law enforcement raids on the wrong houses. The justices are expected to release their decisions in June. The justices did add one more case. They will hear arguments on May 15 on Trump’s executive order to end birthright citizenship.APD creates special tip line in case of missing Eagle River man as friends push for answersJudge sentences man for hitting, killing friend with car in 2021 on Glenn Highway Manslaughter charge dismissed, an Anchorage nurse practitioner accused in overdose death goes back to courtAlaskan raised voice actor returns to hometown for comic-conMan arrested for allegedly embezzling more than $100,000 from school district
