Senior running back Diego Holt of North Jackson ran for 234 yards on 37 carries and scored 4 touchdowns as the Indians edged Randolph 28-26 in a Class 4A, Region 8 game that earned the Stevenson squad the head-to-head tiebreaker. Both 7-2 North Jackson and 6-3 Randolph are 6-1 in the region with the Indians closing out regular season play at DAR on Friday and Randolph hosting New Hope in region contests. Madison Academy’s Josh Williams was second in the voting with 2,650 votes – 34 percent. The senior running back ran for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 24-16 win over Plainview. The 5-4 Mustangs put their 5-2 4A, Region 8 record on the line in their regular-season finale at Westminster Christian on Friday.
Junior quarterback Houston Scott of Westminster Christian got 1,013 votes – 13 percent – to finish third in the balloting. Scott completed 22-of-34 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown in a 21-14 win over New Hope, clinching a 4A playoff spot. The 6-5, 184-pounder also added 21 yards on the ground.
