KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong retained his post as MCA president in the party election.Party secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon said Dr Wee was heading for a landslide victory against his opponent, Datuk Tan Chong Seng.
“Dr Wee has won and retained his post as party president,” Chong announced at Dewan San Choon of Wisma MCA here.
They are joined by newcomers Datuk Seri Dr Wee Jeck Seng with 477 votes and Datuk Lawrence Low Ah Keong with 459 votes.When met at the hall, Dr Wee thanked all the delegates for their support. Asked about the new line-up of four vice-presidents consisting of old and new faces, Dr Wee said that all the seven candidates are capable leaders whom the delegates found hard to choose.
Dr Wee noted that he would call for a meeting and have a brainstorming session on how to bring the party forward.
