It’s National Rescue Dog Day, and Texas Humane Heroes is celebrating in the best way possible, by introducing Austin to a very good girl named Kelly!The gentle

The gentle pup stopped by We Are Austin alongside Texas Humane Heroes’ Christian Long to help spotlight the importance of rescue, adoption, and community support for local animals in need.

Described as sweet, calm, and affectionate, Kelly is the kind of dog who’s ready to become someone’s instant best friend.

“She's been in our care for pretty close to about a month and has just stolen absolutely everyone's hearts. She's about a year and a half old and was almost late for the segment because she kept stopping in everyone's office to say Hi. Just wanted to meet everybody. She just wants to meet absolutely everyone.

She wants to make friends with her reflection. She sees bugs jumping around the grass. She wants them to be her friend. She is just this loving, sweet little girl.

” Long shared. National Rescue Dog Day also highlights the growing need for animal rescue support across Central Texas.

Right now, Texas Humane Heroes is helping respond to a large-scale hoarding case involving dozens of animals, creating an urgent need for:Texas Humane Heroes also shared updates on their new dog kennel expansions, upcoming vaccine clinics, and Summer camp opportunities for kids who love animals. All part of the organization’s ongoing mission to care for pets and educate the community.
