' before a final explosion prompted a frantic call for her mother. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, June 7, in the frontline city, which has been under near-daily bombardments. Kovsh shared the footage on Instagram with the caption: 'Here are the kinds of weddings we have in Zaporizhzhia,' and the clip quickly went viral, drawing widespread attention to the resilience of Ukrainians who continue to celebrate life amid war.
The Shahed, an Iranian-designed kamikaze drone frequently used by Russian forces across Ukraine, was successfully engaged by air defenses. On the same day, additional Russian drone strikes hit a Ukrzaliznytsia train formation, damaging a locomotive, and a residential area in the suburb of Balabino, resulting in civilian casualties. Authorities warned the public against approaching downed drone wreckage or unexploded ordnance due to the lethal risks.
Zaporizhzhia, situated on the Dnieper River about 200 km from the front lines, remains a strategic target because of its industrial significance and proximity to occupied territories. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces have intensified strikes deep inside Russia. Earlier, a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia's southern Krasnodar region killed one person and injured three, targeting a Black Sea export terminal in the village of Volna that handles crude oil, petroleum products, and liquefied gas.
Ukraine's General Staff did not comment on the Krasnodar strike but confirmed hitting an oil preparation and pumping station in Russia's Volgograd region, as well as Russian-occupied areas in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that his forces had struck several military and energy infrastructure sites inside Russia, including a military factory in Cheboksary, Chuvashiya region, over 560 miles from the front line, using FP-5 Flamingo long-range missiles. The factory reportedly supplied components for Russian drones and missiles.
These cross-border attacks are part of Kyiv's ongoing campaign to degrade Russian military and energy capabilities.
