We paid a visit to one of the city's most popular brunch spots to see why it has eared this latest accolade.
Brunch, a type of meal which is usually taken late in the morning that combines a late breakfast and an early lunch, has boomed in popularity in the last few years.
In the Northern Ireland table, Lisburn came second with a 150% increase, placing them fourth in the UK overall. Belfast was third showing an 83% growth. Newry came in at the bottom of the table at 33%. With this in mind, we paid a visit to one of Bangor's most popular brunch spots so see why the city has eared its latest accolade. The city is blessed with many fine establishments and we opted for one of the most popular, Joxer.
One of the most popular dishes on the menu is chicken and waffles. The buttermilk fried chicken was cooked to perfection and served on a bed of sweet waffles that were super fluffy and drizzled with honey cinnamon butter. Both were welcomingly refreshing and the ideal way to brighten up a grey Friday morning. Following our visit, it's easy to see why Bangor has earned its latest accolade as the UK's brunch capital.
