'We tried the pub serving families of four for £15 all summer and couldn't quite believe it'
Lured in by 'kids eat free', or 'buy one main, get one half price', before you know it, you've spent £60 and it feels nothing like the cheap eats you were promised.
It wasn't too crowded when we arrived though and we were soon led to our 'reserved' table by the friendly waiter.Having someone familiar with an offer their company is promoting helps - our server was fully aware of what it entailed, so there was no awkwardness of having to explain. In fact he was the one making sure the offer went through when his till was being awkward.
In the end they both went with a double cheeseburger - well, one minus the cheese - because what is eating out with kids if it doesn't involve some sort of special request. They might as well have taken the peas off too with my pea-dodging pair. That goes for the food too. It's nothing fancy - I doubt anyone would expect it to be - but it was tasty enough, it filled us up and there really was nothing to complain about. The kids certainly weren't complaining with their brownie and ice cream desserts.
