The retailer has a number of new products on the shelves
Barely a week goes by without hearing about some new treat going viral at Marks and Spencer so when it comes to Easter , it's got quite the reputation to uphold. Known for its wacky creations, like the giant Outrageously Chocolatey Custard Cream Biscuity Egg which shoppers struggled to get hold of last year , customers have been watching with anticipation for this year's range.
And thankfully the retailer hasn't held back. As well as bringing back that Custard Cream, along with its popular range of animal-shaped eggs, it's launched a number of new products for 2026. The ones that made it into our basket were the Choc Pretzel, Caramel, Sea Salt & Nougat Easter Egg; the Swiss Salted Caramel & Milk Chocolate Crispy Clouds Egg; and finally the The Big Daddy Pistachio Loaded Half Easter Egg. This one has been flying off the shelves and it's not hard to see why. Tapping into the popularity of pistachios, which foodies have been going nuts for ever since Dubai chocolate became such a big deal, the milk chocolate half egg features milk chocolate chunks containing a white chocolate and pistachio nut centre and a layer of soft caramel, topped with roasted pistachio nut pieces and caramel pieces. It's a bit tricky to eat and we had to use a very large knife to chop it up into smaller pieces, but every bite is like a mini chocolate bar in itself. Those chunks that adorn it are huge and those nut pieces and little caramel balls make a winning combination. There's another Big Daddy Loaded Half Easter Egg in a peanut flavour and this one's made with dark chocolate instead. Next up for us was the Swiss Salted Caramel & Milk Chocolate Crispy Clouds Egg, a creamy Swiss milk chocolate egg with indulgent caramel sea salt almond nougat and crunchy corn flakes. M&S sells bags of these 'chocolate crispy clouds', which shoppers love, but there's something even tastier about enjoying this in a egg, the shell of which is remarkably thick. The final one we tried was the purple and blue boxed Choc Egg, a hollow milk chocolate egg with salted pretzel pieces, salted caramel and honey almond nougat pieces embedded in the shell. You can buy bars of the stuff for £3.50. Again the shell is so thick and the mixture of flavours is sensational. We love pretzels, so we knew this one would be to our liking, but we probably weren't prepared for just how much we'd be fighting over it. You never really know what you're going to get with a store's own brand of chocolate and often they fail to deliver. But this one ticks all the boxes, which might be why there was only one left on the shelf. The chocolate is smooth and creamy and with that added, salt, caramel and crunch, it's a delicious, moreish delight. Whoever you are buying it for this Easter, the bunny is sure to get top marks for this one.
