We recommend for Plano City Council Place 5 | Opinion
Notable is Williams’ support of the 2020 repeal of the Plano Tomorrow Plan. Residents complained that it allowed for too much dense development, particularly apartment complexes, and the city would lose its suburban feel.
Williams said developers have gotten the message and are proposing projects that fit with the plan’s current vision. He said he doesn’t want to “roll back the clock” but “preserve the character and community feel.” He told us he supports providing incentives to create denser housing for homeownership, such as townhomes, that can be affordable to young families and empty nesters.
Williams and another council member in August 2019 questioned a $57,000 city allocation to The Turning Point after learning the center sometimes administers the medications. In an interview with us, Williams described one of them, Ella, as an abortion-causing medication.
