SonaDebate: 'We need a bold plan', says Maimane.
Maimane was speaking during the State of the Nation Address debate on Tuesday.
"To meet these urgent challenges we don’t need dreams. We need money, we need the right people and, most importantly, we need a plan. And in order to do that, we don’t need to build new smart cities, Honourable President. We need to make our current cities smart." "We must broaden access and connect all young people to the information and the opportunities that still remain available to only a few", said Maimane.
A nine-hour sitting has been set aside for the crucial debate and the President is expected to reply on Wednesday.
