Glendale police say an officer fired at the 15-year-old after he was pulled over in a suspected stolen vehicle and appeared to be reaching for a gun.
The family of a boy who was fatally shot by police gathered outside Glendale City Council Chambers on Thursday calling for answers on what led to his death. at a hospital after being pulled over in a vehicle by Glendale police near 63rd Avenue and West Citrus Way.
"We deserve answers," Martinez said. "My family is struggling to pick up the pieces of our broken hearts." An undercover officer not wearing a body camera shot Bojorquez, according to Stewart. It was unclear how many times he was shot.A weapon was found inside the vehicle, according to police. The other teen was taken into custody without incident, Stewart said.
When asked whether Bojorquez had his hands up before being shot and whether police seized phones of witnesses filming the shooting, as alleged at Thursday's news conference, the Buckeye Police Department said no records will be released until the investigation's completion.
