It's difficult to go anywhere these days without, at some point, navigating your way through a cloud of cotton candy-flavoured mist.
In the middle of a cost of living crisis, many in Blackpool today said they felt the decision was an attack on former smokers who were already trying to improve their health. LancsLive wafted its way through a watermelon haze to find out what vapers in the seaside resort thought of the measure. While Lorraine was still smoking cigarettes when LancsLive spoke to the couple, Archie was had a vape. He stopped smoking a year ago after suffering three heart attacks and two strokes.
He said: "I woke up one day and went to buy a packet of ciggies which I used to pay £15 for three years ago. You walk into Tesco now and they want £34 for it. "They can't ban smoking and then want to up the price of vapes - what is it the government actually wants?" Couple Thomas Farrow and Amy Burton also had opinions on vaping culture. Although Thomas doesn't smoke himself, he has seen his partner move from cigarettes to vapes in the last two years.
