Calera Police Chief David Hyche said the officer was on duty traveling to her home when the crash happened. She is currently at UAB Hospital receiving treatment.“We want to thank the Chilton County emergency responders and the UAB ER staff. Now we are all praying for a full and rapid recovery.” “Our hearts and prayers goes out to that family and everyone involved. Its just a tragic situation. Our traffic homicide investigators, traffic team is working it and will assist the city of Clanton and a couple of agencies here in the county working together on it,” said Jemison Deputy Chief Marc McMinn.
Jemison Police ask if anyone who may have witnessed anything or has any information to contact them immediately, or THI officers, Cpl. Floyd Glass, or officer Nathan Bland at 205-688-4492.
