) - The Walton County Sheriff’s Office plans to suspend beach access from County Road 283 to the Bay County line beginning at 7 p.m. until further notice.
Anyone caught trespassing on private property to gain access to the beach will be charged accordingly, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. Large congregations will not be allowed on the sand. “Our team is in the final stretch of spring break,” said Sheriff Michael Adkinson for the release. “It is imperative that during our busiest week ... we prevent a situation from getting out of control. We are trying to get ahead of this now.”
