Tributes have begun to pour in for Chaitanya Mupparaju and Surya Teja Bobba after their bodies were recovered at Millaa Millaa Falls near Cairns.
Two men who died while swimming at a popular Queensland waterfall have been identified as promising young students from India.
Students Chaitanya Mupparaju and Surya Teja Bobba, who died in Cairns at Millaa Millaa falls on July 16.The pair failed to resurface while swimming at the waterhole near Cairns, in what are believed to be the first fatalities at the tourist location. “It appears that one man got into difficulty and that a second man has then come to render him assistance, and unfortunately, both men perished,” Inspector Jason Smith told reporters.Their bodies were recovered about midday, with the waterhole later reopening to the public.Mangapati thanked supporters for their kindness and compassion during an “incredibly difficult time”.
