A water main break in Somerville, New Jersey has left most of the borough without any water.

SOMERVILLE, N.J. -- A 36-inch water main break in Somerville, New Jersey left most of the borough without any water Wednesday morning. Water service was slowly beginning to be restored, however. The break was reported around 6:30 a.m. on Route 206 between South Bridge and Orlando Drive. The northbound road was closed in while repairs were being made. Those repairs were expected to take days to complete.

Residents should throw away any ice cubes made with water that wasn't boiled, and are urged not to swallow water while showering or bathing. There's no word yet on when normal service will be restored. Click here for more information from New Jersey American Water.
