SAPS launched a new online app where members of the public can praise or complain about police. In efforts to reconfigure and enhance frontline service, Western Cape police have launched an online client satisfaction survey, utilising technology and innovation.Police Minister Bheki Cele and Western Cape police commissioner, General Thembisile Patekile, were in attendance.
"The launch of the digital client service survey is exciting. When each public member goes to the police station for whatever reason, they will be allowed to rate the station's service. It will take members less than two minutes to complete. Residents will also be afforded the opportunity to make suggestions via the survey so that police know where to improve," Patekile added.
Patekile said the survey launch is a way for police to embrace technology that has taken over the world. The police service also received a welcome boost in the fight against crime, with 251 brand-new vehicles being handed over to the men in blue. Cele expressed concern that whenever he visits the province to deal with crime, murders, rapes and other attacks, the crimes never seem to happen in areas like Camps Bay, Constantia or Bishopscourt.
