Strong to gale force winds, heavy rainfall and flooding. Suffice it to say, Cape Town has certainly been going through a lot these past few days, with regard to the weather. And with the long weekend, some may say the stormy weather had put a real dampener on any outdoor activity plans some of us may have had.

But not for everyone. As always, in true South African style, we are able to find the best of humour in ‘hectic’ times and to make the most of any card we’re dealt with. A video of a man taking full advantage of the aftermath of the heavy rainfall in Rawsonville in the Western Cape has been circulating on social media.

Not only was he making waves on the side of the road as he waterboards through the flooded grass, pulled by a vehicle, but the video itself has also been making waves on both Twitter and TikTok with many having a good laugh and praising the waterboarder for not wasting a perfect opportunity. Need a reliable car to weather the storm, but tight on a budget? Have a look at these offers for under R100 000. View the deals
