Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick used a Monday night appearance on Fox News' The Ingraham Angle to attack the immigration policy of Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke, accusing the former congressman of being politically lightweight and already out of the race for the White House.
Patrick, a keen supporter of President Donald Trump who has denied rumors of an administration job offer, branded O’Rourke a “moron” for his comments. “Beto, they’re not Americans, they’re here illegally,” Patrick said. “This guy is unbelievable.” O’Rourke’s support for reparations for descendants of former slaves presented another line of attack for Patrick. “There are a lot of people in the northern part of the country who died to free slaves, should they pay reparations?” he asked. “And the south…are we ever going to let that go?”
