A Southwest Airlines flight bound for Florida made an emergency landing in Havana on Sunday after a bird strike caused the cabin to fill with smoke.
The flight had taken off from Cuba's Jose Marti Airport and was making its way to Fort Lauderdale when it began to endure bird strikes, which ultimately caused the engine to catch fire, according to a report."Southwest flight #3923 departing Havana, Cuba, for Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Sunday morning reportedly experienced bird strikes to an engine and the aircraft's nose shortly after takeoff," a Southwest Airlines spokesperson said.
