The international restaurant guide announced Texas as its 11th location among North American destinations. But who will make the cut? And will the Texas list feature Austin's staple barbecue?
If you were to go to the Michelin Guide website and search for restaurants in Texas you'd get this message:
"No results found. Unfortunately there are no selected restaurants in the area you've searched for. The areas covered by the MICHELIN Guide are increasing regularly so we may have some selection soon. Would you like to start over?" Well, Texas' lack of Michelin-starred restaurants is coming to a close Monday night. The tire company that puts on the international restaurant guide will unveil which restaurants made the cut during a ceremony in Houston starting at 7 p.m.
It's not guaranteed that any Austin-area restaurants will be featured, but you can watch a livestream of the event below to find out.The City of Austin is looking for community feedback on its proposed plans to turn Congress Avenue into a more pedestrian and cyclist-friendly zone, including constructing an entirely new car-free plaza.Take a tour of the performance venues, skate parks, splash pads and restaurants planned to be installed on top of TxDOT's widened and lowered freeway.
