Luther Vandross' music still lives on after his death. On May 31, Primary Wave Music, in partnership with Vandross' estate, will be releasing the official music video to the singer's hit 1976 song “Funky Music .' The video will feature 'unseen footage since the '70s' of a then twenty-something-year-old Vandross at the Steel Pier Atlantic City show performing his classic hit on stage. In an exclusive clip shared with TODAY.
An official release date for the film has yet to be announced. “Funky Music ,' which was later turned into David Bowie’s song “Fascination' off of his 'Young Americans' album, is also available on Vandross' re-released album 'Luther,' which came out on April 19 — nearly 19 years after the singer's death.
