A ballistic expert is set to take the stand in the trial of the five men charged with the murder of Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa on Monday, 15 April.
Matlou revealed that information from the national administration traffic information system contradicts the testimony of accused 1 Mzuikawukhulelwa Sibiya who said that he was not residing in Gauteng at the time Meyiwa was killed. During his testimony, the investigator testified that a few months before Meyiwa was killed Sibiya made a booking for a learner’s licence in Brakpan, Gauteng. He had registered Sotho Hostel in Vosloorus as his address.
In September 2023, Peter Jacobus Smuts from CIT company SBV testified that the gun which allegedly killed Senzo Meyiwa wasSmuts said the firearm was reported stolen immediately after the incident, and a case was registered.
