Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) will hold a press conference on Wednesday following the GOP luncheon.

McConnell's conference will be his first since his latest health episode, when he had difficulty speaking at a press conference in Kentucky on Aug. 30. It was his second health scare after he froze for several seconds during a press briefing at the Capitol in late July.Dr. Brian P. Monahan, the attending Capitol physician, examined McConnell and ruled out a seizure, stroke, or other movement disorder on Tuesday.

McConnell was concussed from a fall earlier this year. He was hospitalized and sidelined from the Senate for nearly six weeks. The Senate is back in session this week, with the House coming back to Capitol Hill on Sept. 14. At the top of the agenda is avoiding a government shutdown, with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy anticipating needing a continuing resolution to keep the government funded past Sept. 30. McConnell has indicated he is not willing to negotiate on spending.
