Johnny Depp returned to the stand Wednesday in the civil trial for his lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp testified he only saw what his attorney Adam Waldman had said about Heard when he saw the counterclaim filed by his ex-wife.
Depp is suing Heard for libel for $50 million in Fairfax County Circuit Court over a December 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post describing herself as"a public figure representing domestic abuse." His lawyers say he was defamed by the article even though it never mentioned his name. Heard is countersuing Depp for $100 million over the statements Waldman made about her to media. and Amber Heard resumed Wednesday in what is the sixth and expected last week of the trial.
Earlier Tuesday, his team had called supermodel Kate Moss, who testified Depp did not push her down the stairs in an incident that Depp's ex-wife Amber Heard had mentioned in testimony. Moss, who dated Depp in the 1990s, said she slid down the stairs but wasn't pushed.
