Former President Donald Trump will speak at the National Rifle Association's annual meeting in Indianapolis on Friday.
Trump is the headliner on a long list of Republicans who have or are expected to line up and challenge him for the GOP presidential nomination next year.
The convention is a regular stop for GOP White House hopefuls, and despite several news cycles highlighting internal fighting and corruption at the NRA, its endorsement remains a powerful draw. In 2016, Trump earned the NRA’s endorsement on his road to victory. While his former running mate and Vice President Mike Pence spoke in person at the convention, Trump’s top contender in 2024, Gov. Ron DeSantis delivered a remote speech. The Florida governor has not declared he is running against Trump, but he is speaking at an event in New Hampshire, a vital, early voting state, on Friday.
