, Tyler inherited their shared proclivity for attention to self-care, and it shows. “The more I do this stuff, the better I feel inside,” insists the 42-year-old actor. “And the more calm I feel, the better my skin looks on the outside.” On a sunny afternoon inside of her charming West Village brownstone in New York City, Tyler is traipsing around her dreamy, sun-drenched bathroom, taking us through her daily 25-step routine, equal parts beauty and self-care.
“My secret obsession—a passion of my whole life—is skin care,” explains Tyler. “I think I would’ve become a facialist if I didn’t start acting.” Throwing her hair up in a scrunchie made of recycled Hermès scarves, Tyler begins by gently removing her makeup, letting the creamy cleanser melt away her mascara in “’90s grunge” fashion. To purify her complexion, she spreadsall over her face, leaving the Smurf-hued treatment on for a few minutes.
