SAPD said the suspect held a gun to his head and then pointed it at officers, prompting officers to open fire.
One man is in custody after leading law enforcement in a chase that ended in a standoff with shots fired, according to San Antonio police.
McManus said the suspect evaded police while a woman was inside the car with him. He is believed to be in his 40s.
